Before data is visualized or shared, partners need to discuss scientific authority, data custody, stewardship responsibilities, relevant contractual rights, attribution, display precision, sensitive-site protection, access tiers, and responsible communication.
Not every data point should become a public map point.
A sea turtle tracking record may contain more than a location. It may reveal a release site, nesting beach, rescue location, foraging area, migration corridor, research effort, or sensitive conservation context. Blue Circle uses governance layers to help partners decide how such information should be represented.
